TEACHING
As a teaching artist, my own studio practice directly informs the work I do in the classroom. I am passionate about helping students develop both their technical skills and conceptual ideas. An important aspect of the creative process is the exploration of ideas and I find that my own interests constantly weave themselves into my teaching. This process of exploration allows me to continually learn alongside my students as they develop their own ideas and their own personal approach to artistic practice.
ARTS + SERVICE
Engaging in service is an area that can provide immense personal growth. The act of giving, in itself, is extremely rewarding - and I seek to provide these experiences for my students. I have led numerous trips to Romania, working with the charity Hope and Homes for Children. Currently, I facilitate a student group that works with local school in Hong Kong serving students with special needs.
SELECTED STUDENT WORK
I teach a wide range of multidisciplinary studio courses with a specific area of focus in working with advanced HS students preparing college level portfolios in AP Studio Art and the IB Diploma Program. Elective courses have included: Drawing + Painting, Film + Digital Photography, Graphic Design and AP Art History.
