HYPERMASS

Hypermass is a series of artworks created in 2021 and inspired by Hong Kong. This project combines digital illustration, drawing, painting and fragments of collaged photographs.

Living in Hong Kong, I’m constantly amazed at how visually dynamic this city is. Every detail on every surface looks like an abstract painting. I’ve started using photography to collect these details as I explore the city and I’ve begun collaging these fragments into my artwork.

Perhaps cities can be thought of as living systems - constantly growing and changing. I think about these works as molecules that capture a part of the city.
